JUVENILE – On April 4, 2017, the Comprehensive Youth Justice Amendment Act, first introduced a year prior in April 2016, became law in the District of Columbia. D.C. jails are now prohibited from placing juveniles in solitary confinement except upon the specific finding of imminent harm to either the juvenile, another person, or to the safe and secure operation of the facility.
